B & T Interiors
The founder of Bridge & Tunnel Pizza, is a former New Yorker whom aspires to create a franchise out of his New York style pizza-by-the-slice restaurant. He asked to KLI to develop a brand identity as well as design the interior of his flagship restaurant. By finding inspiration from the typical materials found in New York City transportation, KLI was able to create a cohesive marketing strategy including identity, business cards, pizza boxes, delivery cars vinyl, interior graphics and finishes, and exterior signage including a lit blade signage and window vinyl.
The space itself consists of concrete floor stained in two shades of alternating gray angled striping that mimic the usual orange and white hazard stripes seen on the roadsides. A wall in the seating area of the restaurant continues the stripe pattern, but boldly, in two shades of orange. The bold contrast of this wall to the rest of the space is broken up by a series of parking lot mirrors mounted to the wall. Other notable nods to New York transportation are the run of LED lights mounted to the wall and the modernized subway tile used underneath the ordering counter. Lighting and other finishes were carefully chosen to create a contemporary, urban setting that stills holds the essence of a New York slice shop. The look is complete at night as well when the vinyl logo banner is spot lit and can be easily seen from across the busy nightlife street.
