Formica International Builders Show 2008
Formica Corporation wanted to impart two marketing messages with the 2008 International Home Builders’ show attendees. The first was to tell builders to “Mix It Up!” by mixing and matching Formica’s comprehensive range of surfacing products when designing their next home. This message was conveyed on large-scale fabric mesh “MIX” banners that could be seen from across the show floor, as well as in the movie projected onto a large white screen near the center of the space. Attendees were also able to experience “mixing it up” by interacting with the surface mix product spinners or by viewing product-pairing suggestions at the design centers, which were located on each of the five tables in the space. The second message Formica wanted to convey was to announce their new laminate finish, Radiance which was seen throughout the booth as well as in two larger-than-life beauty shots on vinyl mesh banners, one at the conference rooms’ entrance and the other wrapping the back wall of the booth facing the aisle. The booth design also included a storage/bathroom application and two conference rooms created by the mesh banners and hung Plynyl, which echoed the alternating, angled Plynyl flooring. Lit globes adorned with product logos hanging overhead each table and a welcoming, open floor plan made the space feel more like a showroom than a trade stand; a look which attracted many attendees to the space during the show.
